My journey into the world of carp fishing began when I was just a young boy, fascinated by the serene beauty of the water and the thrill of the catch. It was my grandfather who first introduced me to the world of fishing, passing on his passion and knowledge to me. Growing up in the picturesque landscapes of the Netherlands, I spent countless hours by the water’s edge, honing my skills and developing a deep passion for Carp Fishing. Fishing became more than just a hobby, it became a way of life. The patience, strategy, and connection with nature that carp fishing demands taught me valuable life lessons and shaped who I am today. However, my journey took an unexpected turn when I was 15 years old. Until then, I had perfect vision, but due to a hereditary eye disease, I became visually impaired and now have only 5% of my vision remaining.

This sudden change was a significant challenge. Fishing, which had always been my refuge, now required many adjustments and was often difficult. There were moments of frustration and doubt, and I even considered giving up fishing altogether. I wasn’t sure if I could continue, but I decided to push forward. It took a lot of energy and determination, but it also brought many beautiful moments back into my life. To overcome my visual challenges, I use a (bait) boat with autopilot, depth meter, and camera’s. These tools have been invaluable in helping me navigate the waters and continue my fishing adventures. They have allowed me to adapt and thrive despite my visual impairment.

Living with visual impairment has taught me the importance of perseverance and adaptability. It has shown me that no matter the obstacles, you can achieve your dreams and find joy in the journey. Through Ron-E Carpfishing, I hope to inspire others to experience the same joy and fulfillment that carp fishing has brought into my life. Feel free to send me a message with any questions or if you need help with anything. I’m always happy to assist!
